Mrs. Baginski is new to Saint Mary Academy. She was born and raised in Presidio, TX. She attended the University of the Incarnate Word in San Antonio, TX, where she studied Psychology. She then pursued other passions, ultimately becoming an entrepreneur and running her own hair salon.

Mrs. Baginski worked as a facilitator at Presidio High School, working with students in the Early College Program. She has two sons who attend Saint Mary Academy. Aside from spending time with family, she enjoys baking and gardening.

Fun Fact: Mrs. Baginski is a self-taught baker and cake decorator.

Ms. Barrick grew up in Frankfort, Kentucky, and graduated from Franklin County High School. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Kentucky, College of Human Environmental Sciences, specializing in interior design. She spent several years working as a visual designer with Macy’s in Lexington and Louisville.

She left her job at Macy’s just prior to the birth of her first son, Henry, who is a 4th grader at SMA. In 2016, Ms. Barrick’s son, William, was born. William is in Kindergarten at SMA. Both boys were baptized at St. Bernadette. Ms. Barrick also has 2 dogs at home – Theo and Bernard.

She moved to California in 2018 and returned to Louisville in the summer of 2021. She has many family members in Louisville and surrounding areas, including her 96 year old grandmother who lives in Georgetown.

Ms. Barrick enjoys spending time with her sons and family and her dogs. She also enjoys watching her boys participate in sports, which keeps her very busy.

Cafeteria Position Hiring!

Cafeteria Dishwasher – Part-time position – 3 days a week

Monday/Wednesday/Friday 10am – 1pm when school is in session. Description: responsible for operating dishwasher as well as other odd jobs helping in the kitchen. Must be dependable and a team player. Starting wage $15/hour

All Candidates must follow health department food handling guidelines and maintain cleanliness in the kitchen. Candidates should be willing to complete a background check,and attend a Safe Environment Training

Dear School Community:

As the 2024-2025 year comes to a close, we are working to plan ahead for the 2025-2026 school year. As part of the normal transition of the SMA School Board, there will be one open position for the next school year. If you, or someone you know, is interested in participating as a member of the school board for a three-year term, the Board invites you to attend the beginning of its April meeting, which will be held on Wednesday, April 16 at 6:30 pm in the Parish Center. The Board will share a little about its role as a consultative board, the time commitment (about 2 hours per month for three years), and invite any questions you may have. We will also ask you to share a little about yourself and your interest in the Board.

In advance, and if you cannot attend the meeting, we ask that you submit an email with the following information to Dr. Timmerberg (trevor.timmerberg@saintmaryacademy.com) and me, Sarah McKenna (sarah.mckenna@dinsmore.com):

1. Name;

2. Contact information (cell phone, email);

3. Names and current grade(s) of child(ren) at SMA;

4. Short biography;

5. Why are you interested in a position on the SMA School Board?; and

6. What values and experiences would you bring to the Board?

Following the April meeting, the Board will ask that all those interested in the open Board positions exercise a period of discernment and advise Dr. Timmerberg and myself if you remain interested in the Board position via email by April 25. The Board will consider all of those individuals who attend the meeting and/or send an email with the information requested above for the open positions. A decision on the selection for the three open positions will be made on or about May 21, 2024. The positions will begin July 2025 and end June 2028.

If you have any questions about the SMA School Board or the open positions, please do not hesitate to reach out to me or Dr. Timmerberg.

We are so excited to share that Saint Mary Academy will be creating a pollinator garden on campus near Saint Bernadette church. Our 3rd grade students and Hands to Service Elective students are teaming up to kick this project off. But we need your help! If you wish to support this project through a monetary donation to help us purchase plants, cash or check will be accepted. Checks can be made payable to Saint Mary Academy. Every contribution, big or small, makes a difference!

This garden will be a hands-on learning experience for our students, and it will have a positive impact on our environment. We look forward to sharing more as this project progresses. Thank you for your support!

Congratulations to this week’s Monarch Character Counts recipients!

We are very excited to share that SMA placed 2nd at the Elementary Regional Governor’s Cup! Additionally, our Future Problem Solvers (FPS) team placed 1st!

This past weekend, several of our 8th grade students participated in the Louisville Regional Science & Engineering Fair at the University of Louisville. Sophia Figaniak earned 2nd place for her project on the Kastle-Meyer Test for Blood!
