In honor of the feast of St. Francis of Assisi, we will have a blessing of animals at 2pm next Sunday, October 4th, in the outdoor classroom in front of Saint Mary Academy. All animals are welcome to this event, so long as they are on a leash or in a cage or box
We are currently looking for more Communion Ministers for Norton Brownsboro Hospital. A current Communion minister mandate is required. A medical background is helpful but not required. Comfort in a hospital setting is essential. You will be oriented to the hospital setting and rules for entering a patient's room. We use the booklet “The Catholic Handbook for Visiting the Sick and Homebound“ for distributing Communion.

Let us come together as a Church Family on Tuesday, October 6th, 6pm to celebrate both “The Month of the Rosary” and “Respect Life Month”. We will pray the Rosary during Adoration in six languages to show our global unity for desired peace and our shared reverence for the sanctity of life from conception to natural death.
The feast of Our Lady of the Rosary, also celebrated as Our Lady of Victory, was established by Pope St. Pius V in 1571 to celebrate the miraculous victory of the Christian forces in the Battle of Lepanto on Oct. 7 of that year. Previous to the decisive battle, St. Pius V had requested all Western Christians to pray the rosary; thus he attributed the victory to the power of the Marian prayer rather than the power of ships and cannons.

Embrace Grace is a 12-week support group specifically developed for single women experiencing an unplanned pregnancy who have chosen life for their baby. This program is provided by The Rose, which is a ministry of LittleWay. Anyone who completes all 12 weeks of the program will be treated to a complimentary baby shower where they will be provided such essentials like diapers, clothing, toys, a diaper bag, burp cloths, a bath set, a baby health care kit, and other useful items.
Several baby showers are scheduled throughout the next year. The next shower is Saturday, October 17 and Saint Bernadette has generously agreed to sponsor one mother and her child. If you would like to support the baby shower, please use the QR code above or go to tinyurl.com/stbshower during Respect Life (October). The Dignity of Life Committee will allocate donated funds and purchase gifts for our selected mother and baby. We know the brave mom who receives our gifts will experience so much love from the church, and we hope that love gives her a small glimpse of how much God loves her. Preschool Floating Assistant
Job Description: You will be assisting in 3- and 4-year-old classrooms, helping to cover lunches and breaks, and working in After Care where needed. You will be subbing in classrooms (with another person) if someone is out for the day.
Requirements: Must be a self-starter, must be on time, and be flexible. Applicants should be 18 years or older. 15 hours of paid training required.
Hours: 9 - 5:30. This is a 10-month position in a school with school related breaks.
Pay: $16 per hour with benefits.
OCIA CLASS Schedule
